For all the different experiences cancer survivors face - depending on cancer type, cancer stage, and what a survivor’s life, obligations, and support systems look like at the time they’re diagnosed - some cancer survivor experiences are more similar than they are distinct. This section is dedicated to the experiences patients of all types are likely to face.

Most patients at some point, for example, find themselves wondering:

• What should I expect? What does cancer feel like?
• What’s the best way to break the news to loved ones? Especially to kids?
• Can I work through my treatment?
• What are the side effects of cancer treatment? Will I lose my hair and what are my options if I do?
