Michele Barber, RN, MSN

Michele spent the first half of her career providing direct care to people with cancer as a certified oncology nurse and nurse practitioner; working on inpatient units, outpatient infusion rooms, radiation therapy, and hospice. Up until very recently, she served as an active member of the Oncology Nursing Society in education-related leadership roles both locally and nationally and was an inaugural member of the Advanced Practitioner Society for Hematology Oncology.
After almost 2 decades in patient care, Michele decided to take a chance with a role as a nurse educator in a small biotech company, where her clinical experience brought value to both customers and colleagues. Her passion for making things better for patients, survivors, and their families remained a guiding principle and this led to a role in patient advocacy and engagement for another small biopharma company. Joining The Patient Story feels like the culmination of all these prior professional roles and the opportunity to help transform the way people access medical and healthcare knowledge for themselves and loved ones.
When she’s not at work, Michele can usually be found at a sports venue, watching one of her boys play baseball, hockey, and lacrosse, reading a book while her husband takes the kids golfing, or planning the next family trip.
